Event Description

Ben Ashley-Wurtmann and Anna Raudenbush of the Mental Health Association of Minnesota will present on strategies for making caring referrals and how to support people in getting mental health care in respectful ways.  With a case study, we'll see how an "intervention" for mental health issues looks like from the perspective of a client and how that process might affect that individual.

We will also explore how to set our boundaries in ways that still encourage recovery. Applying the concept of the "rescue triangle," we will talk about pitfalls and unhealthy roles that can develop in care-giving, and how to break out.  Information about community resources for people in crisis will also be reviewed.

This presentation is intended for clergy, lay leaders, volunteers with ministries, family members, or anyone who has wondered "what can I do to get someone help?"

Program is free, requested $5 donation for lunch. Contact Ben (benaw@mentalhealthmn.org or 651.756.8584 x7) for more details.
