Gather around the dinner table at St. Matthew's in St. Paul for an informal service of Eucharist on the Fourth Sundays of June & July.
At Dinner Church, we eat and pray together at the same time, enjoying home cooked meals, passing dishes around the table family style, and trying sharing our favorite recipes with each other. The food is eclectic and delicious, and there's a buzz of energy around this table--joy, reflection, and a deep welcome.
Summer Dinner Church will be in our air conditioned parish hall at 5:30 pm on June 24 and July 22. We'll have a conversation about the scripture, with a bit of guidance from someone who has studied the story and can offer context. We'll pray with familiar prayers from the Book of Common Prayer, and sing simple hymns and chants to guitar, all in our air-conditioned parish hall. Our meal is potluck, but all are welcome regardless of your ability to bring something. We have many people in our group who are have vegan and gluten free diets, so we always have one or two great dishes for everyone.
You can help us plan by RSVPing by email or by using the event on Facebook. While it helps us make sure there's enough chairs, you can always come without RSVPing.
